Mumbai Mayor Ritu Tawde has directed the BMC to prepare a fresh food truck policy after corporators criticised seizures affecting unemployed youth and women’s self-help groups who took loans to start businesses. The pilot policy, launched in 2021, was put on hold in July 2025 amid coordination problems and NOC requirements.
