Two days before Israel’s October 27 election, Benjamin Netanyahu has shared an AI-generated image depicting a nuclear explosion over Tel Aviv alongside a warning about the consequences of Iran obtaining nuclear weapons. The post, attributed to right-wing commentator Yuval Bloomberg and shared by Netanyahu, argues that Israel faces a “real and tangible existential threat” and warns that choosing leadership unable to confront Tehran could expose Israeli families to the “danger of a second Holocaust.” It also describes Donald Trump’s presidency as a potentially “historic window of opportunity” for dealing with Iran. Netanyahu’s opponents accused him of using fear ahead of the vote. Gadi Eisenkot described the message as “lies and scare tactics,” while Yair Golan accused Netanyahu’s camp of spreading panic. The intervention comes amid a wider debate over Iran and reported disagreement about whether Israel has an immediate operational need for another strike before the election.
