A UAE-linked oil tanker seized by Iran in the Strait of Hormuz is reportedly moving toward the Iranian port of Bandar Abbas, according to Iran’s semi-official Fars news agency. The vessel was initially scheduled to sail toward the UAE’s Jebel Ali port before being stopped in the northern corridor near Qeshm Island. The reported seizure comes as Tehran imposes tighter requirements on vessels crossing the strategic waterway, including designated routes and permission from Iranian authorities. Iran has also restricted passage for vessels linked to Israel or the United States.
