The Rajya Sabha approved a bill to increase Supreme Court judges. This bill will replace the ordinance which previously raised the judge count. The passed bill was returned to Lok Sabha after its approval. Union minister Arjun Ram Meghwal stated the bill improves judicial efficiency. The house adjourned for Thursday after the bill's passage.
