An Odisha Police sub-inspector, Sujit Kumar Mahanta, was apprehended by a Vigilance team after he allegedly accepted a Rs 10,000 bribe and then jumped into a pond to escape. He was caught after a chase through the water, and Rs 1.55 lakh in cash was later seized from his premises.
