NHRC Takes Suo Motu Cognizance Over Fatal Snakebite In Jharkhand School Hostel
The National Human Rights Commission has taken suo motu cognisance of reports that four girl students were bitten by a snake while sleeping in a residential school hostel in Jharkhand's Lohardaga district on 7 July. One died and three remain under treatment. NHRC has sought a report from the state's Chief Secretary within two weeks.
