Impact of the Inflation Reduction Act on Cancer Care: A Virtual Workshop Series (Part 1)

The health care provisions of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) aim to lower out-of-pocket costs for Medicare beneficiaries and reduce federal spending on prescription drugs. This virtual workshop series, hosted by the National Cancer Policy Forum in collaboration with the Forum on Drug Discovery, Development, and Translation, will examine the IRA’s health care provisions and their implications for access to high-quality care for chronic diseases and for innovation in drug development, with a particular focus on cancer care. This first part, to be held on September 8, 2026, will focus on the IRA’s prescription drug provisions related to affordability and patient access. Participants will examine the provisions’ policy objectives and potential effects on self-administered and physician-administered drugs.
