INDIA and Japan added an important layer of defence cooperation to their bilateral ties when Japanese Defence Minister Shinjiro Koizumi signed a memorandum on Maritime Security Cooperation with his Indian counterpart Rajnath Singh in Delhi on August 20 to deepen coordination between the Indian Navy and the Japan Maritime Self-Defence Force.
