A 50-year-old Thai national was arrested at the airport in Johannesburg for allegedly attempting to smuggle fifty believed-to-be endangered parrot eggs in a “homemade incubator bag” carried as hand luggage, according to South Africa’s Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment. Some of those eggs have now successfully hatched.
