GREATER use of electric vehicles (EVs) is integral to India’s clean energy push. This would also reduce our dependence on imported energy. The higher capital cost of EVs is more than offset by lower running costs, making their life-cycle cost per km substantially lower. Electric two-wheelers and three-wheelers already have a rapidly increasing market share, and we are seeing more electric cars on the road.
