Onlookers rescued three children, aged between five and 16, while two teachers and a student drowned while attempting to rescue them. After the incident, people at the spot pulled the deceased from the water, attempted CPR and informed police. Deendayal Nagar police station in-charge Anurag Yadav reached the location with police personnel.
