NPP sets November 1–10 for parliamentary aspirants to declare interest - MyJoyOnline

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has scheduled November 1 to 10, 2026, for prospective parliamentary candidates, including sitting Members of Parliament, to formally declare their intention to contest the party’s parliamentary primaries ahead of the 2028 general elections. The party’s General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, announced the timeline at a press conference on Thursday, October 29, saying the declaration of intent would be the first step in the process leading to the primaries. He said the party would assess prospective candidates against its constitutional requirements and the laws of Ghana to determine their eligibility. “Our prospective parliamentary candidates will be checked on whether or not, per our constitution, they indeed qualify to stand as or to be nominated as a parliamentary candidate for our party,” he said.
