Steve and Connie Ballmer donated $25 million in 2024 to support Americas national parks. The National Park Foundation planned to direct the money towards conservation, childrens outdoor education and jobs for young adults restoring trails and wetlands. Climate adaptation at Mount Rainier and Sleeping Bear Dunes was another priority. The gift also backed a wider fundraising campaign targeting $1 billion by 2028, alongside contributions from hundreds of park partners.
