Mumbai: Underground Churchgate–Virar Rail Link On Western Railway’s Radar; Awaits Railway Board Funds
Western Railway is awaiting Railway Board funds to begin a feasibility study for a proposed underground suburban rail link between Churchgate and Virar. If found feasible, the project will proceed to a Detailed Project Report. Separately, MRVC is studying underground connectivity on the Churchgate–Virar and CSMT–Parel corridors, with its report still pending.
