How will clients handle X2 by X1 cross certificate revocation - Issuance Tech - Let's Encrypt Community Support

Will clients give an error if the server presents a certificate chain that includes the revoked X2 by X1 cross signed certificate? I guess the answer is "no", as long as the client trusts the X2 root certificate. Are there some (perhaps old) clients that won't handle this scenario well?
