The United States Consulate in Toronto has been struck by gunfire for the second time in four months. Police say an officer heard a shot at approximately 4:46 a.m. before spotting an unmarked white Honda Accord speeding away. Investigators recovered a shell casing and found fresh damage to the consulate’s facade, but no injuries were reported. Officers pursued the vehicle before abandoning the chase when it reportedly exceeded 140 kilometres per hour. The suspects remain at large, and police have not established a motive or confirmed a connection to the March attack, in which several rounds were fired at the same building. With similar vehicles involved and both incidents occurring at almost the same hour, investigators are examining whether the consulate is facing a continuing threat. Watch.
