The state government will appoint 3,400 teachers in schools affiliated with the CBSE within a month to fill all existing vacancies in these institutions. Of the total 3,400 teachers, around 2,800 will be appointed on a temporary basis on a fixed honorarium of Rs 30,000 per month for five years while another 600 Junior Basic Teachers (JBTs) will be recruited for the primary sections of more than 130 CBSE-affiliated schools. “There will be no vacancy in CBSE-affiliated schools after these teachers are appointed. Many schools will, in fact, have additional teachers,” said a senior Education Department official.
