A man who tried to throw a package containing more than £12,000 worth of illegal drugs failed several times, CCTV footage shows. Joshua Smith, 30, of no fixed abode, was jailed for three years and eight months on Monday (24 August) for throwing an illegal package into a prison in July 2025. Security footage shows Smith approaching a prison in Hull, making several attempts to throw the parcel over the fence before eventually succeeding. The package was immediately seized and analysed by prison officers. The parcel was packed with an estimated £12,000 of drugs, including class A drugs, and a mobile phone, Humberside Police said.
