Bombay HC Refuses Interim Maintenance To US-Based Woman Earning More Than Former Husband
The Bombay High Court refused interim maintenance of Rs 1 lakh per month to a US-based woman, holding that she earns substantially more than her former husband. The Court said the higher cost of living abroad does not justify maintenance and that Section 24 of the Hindu Marriage Act protects financially weaker spouses.
