JD Vance was interrupted at a North Carolina rally by a protester shouting, “Release the Epstein files,” setting off a tense and highly awkward exchange in front of the crowd.Vance responded by pivoting to illegal immigration, saying the administration had recorded “zero illegal border crossings” before joking, “But one isn’t bad, right?”The remark immediately drew criticism because the heckler appeared to be a person of color, with opponents accusing Vance of making a racially charged assumption about the protester’s immigration status.
