AAIB for better coordination between civil, defence aviation authorities - The Times of India
The Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) has sought a greater collaboration between civil aviation and defence authorities as a number of airports where commercial flights operate are defence airfields. Submitting its final report in a case at the Navy’s Dabolim Airport in Goa where an Air India Express flight and a Naval aircraft had ended up on the same runway at the same time, the AAIB has sought the establishment of “a formal framework for collaboration between DGCA/AAIB and defence on a priority basis” to ensure exchange of unclassified information and evidence for investigation of an incident or accident.
