The Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) has constituted a four-member inquiry committee to investigate allegations of irregularities in the handling of pilgrims' offerings and donations at Shri Badrinath Dham. The probe follows claims circulating on social media and a complaint by Bhairav Sena Sangathan alleging theft of temple donations. BKTC CEO Sohan Singh Rangad said the committee will examine CCTV footage, employee statements and other evidence, and submit its report within seven days. He added that strict departmental and legal action will be taken if any wrongdoing is established. The committee has also urged devotees not to spread unverified information until the inquiry is completed. The development comes amid heightened scrutiny over temple donations following the ongoing investigation into alleged financial irregularities at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya.
