Mumbai’s Ganpati Visarjan Leaves BMC With 2,854 MT Idol Remains As Scientific Disposal Plan Remains Unclear
After over 1.99 lakh Ganpati and Gauri idols were immersed across Mumbai during Ganeshotsav, the BMC retrieved 2,854.7 metric tonnes of idol remains. The waste has been transported to the Mulund dumping plot, but the civic body is yet to finalise a scientific disposal method. Last year's 2,500 MT waste also remains stored at the site.
