Amid delayed monsoon rains and concerns over water availability, members of Mumbai’s East Indian community revived a centuries-old rain prayer tradition in Gorai. Around 150 residents joined a procession carrying a statue of St Anthony and stones symbolising rain clouds, seeking blessings for rainfall while preserving a unique cultural practice rooted in the city’s indigenous heritage.
