Bombay HC Quashes FIR Against College Staff Over 14 Students’ Deaths At Murud Beach, Orders Safety Measures
The Bombay High Court quashed a 2016 FIR against trustees and staff of Pune’s Abeda Inamdar Senior College over the drowning deaths of 14 students at Murud beach. The court found insufficient evidence of criminal negligence and directed Maharashtra to strengthen beach safety through warning signs, lifeguards and rescue facilities.
