Karnataka government has brought the entire Bengaluru Urban district under the BWSSBs jurisdiction to plan drinking water and sewage infrastructure in areas outside Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) limits that are witnessing rapid urbanisation. The government has directed agencies to prepare long-term plans for water supply, sewerage networks and sewage treatment plants, while also exploring the use of treated wastewater to fill lakes and recharge groundwater.
