Abhishek claims seventh attack bid; Mamata targets BJP - The Tribune
Trinamool Congress chief and former West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Saturday slammed the BJP after TMC national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee alleged that “BJP goons” had attacked his residence around 2 am following a two-day recce, claiming it was the seventh attempt on his life in the past six months. Reacting to the allegation, Mamata accused BJP workers of unleashing midnight violence, intimidating residents and disrupting religious celebrations in Kolkata. She also questioned the role of the police, challenged the BJP’s alleged use of force and said she would not surrender to what she described as “political oppression and intimidation”.
