One year after Charlie Kirk was fatally shot at Utah Valley University, his family is taking legal aim at the university and Utah officials over alleged security failures. In a wrongful-death notice, the family’s attorneys accuse officials of making “reckless decisions” that they say left Kirk exposed to a rooftop gunman. The allegations include inadequate police staffing, no drone surveillance, weak security measures and an insufficient risk assessment. The university says it is addressing the notice through its legal process.
