Transport operators protested at the Thane RTO on October 19 over 45 days of disrupted vehicle fitness testing. The union said thousands of commercial vehicles remain without mandatory certificates while owners continue paying loans, insurance and maintenance costs. It demanded the reopening of local centres and the start of testing at Kalyan ATS.
