With the US midterm elections just days away, concerns are mounting inside the FBI over possible orders to seize ballots and voting machines. According to a report by MS NOW, current and former bureau officials fear agents could be directed to investigate unsubstantiated election fraud claims using legally questionable warrants. The concerns follow the FBI's seizure of election materials in Georgia earlier this year, an operation that resulted in no criminal charges. President Donald Trump has repeatedly made unsubstantiated claims about election fraud, while questions are also being raised over the Justice Department's possible role in post-election proceedings. With FBI Director Kash Patel refusing to rule out deploying agents to polling places, fears over federal intervention in the electoral process are intensifying ahead of Election Day.
