Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Thursday that Russia "will accomplish our tasks" in Ukraine after he agreed "in principle" to resume negotiations. "All the objectives of the Special Military Operation will be met," he said. Speaking to Russian TV, Putin said "it seems inappropriate to speak of any territorial losses" as the people of the occupied territories "voted for reunification with the Russian Federation." He said that the purpose of the announced trilateral talks "will be to discuss how to ensure the security of both Ukraine and Russia following the conclusion of peace agreement." This comes after Russia agreed Wednesday to resume three-way negotiations next month with Washington and Kyiv aimed at ending the war in Ukraine, a Kremlin official said, potentially setting up the first such talks since February.
