  The dramatic drop in homicides and shootings of Boston’s young people in the late 1990s became known as the “Boston Miracle.” While those who worked on the effort say many factors contribute to long-term reductions in violence, a focused deterrence strategy across city government, nonprofit service-providers, trusted community leaders and police is central to
