Top Maoist leader Besra, Carrying ₹2.2 crore bounty, held in Jharkhand - The Economic Times
Top Maoist leader Misir Besra was arrested in Jharkhand's Dhanbad district. He carried a reward of over Rs 2.2 crore and was wanted in 175 cases. Two other Maoists, carrying rewards, were also apprehended during the operation. The police claimed the Maoist menace is almost wiped out from the state. Besra joined the outfit in 1980 and played a key role in its expansion.
