NGT Orders Kshipra Rejuvenation, Directs UMC To Stop Untreated Sewage Discharge In MP's Ujjain
The NGT has directed Ujjain Municipal Corporation and the district administration to stop untreated sewage discharge into the Kshipra and take steps for its rejuvenation ahead of Simhastha 2028. The tribunal ordered regular inspections, action against violators, treatment of contaminated drains, removal of encroachments and improved sewage infrastructure to protect the river.
