Pakistan’s defence minister has called for Muslim countries to unite against Israel, just one day after Saudi Arabia, Türkiye and nuclear-armed Pakistan signed the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement. Khawaja Asif described Israel as a common threat and argued that Muslim divisions must be set aside. The pact itself does not name Israel as an adversary, and neither Saudi Arabia nor Türkiye has publicly endorsed Asif’s proposed front. His intervention nevertheless raises questions about whether the new alliance could become the foundation of a broader Muslim security bloc. Watch.
