China says it is ready to implement the agreements and key understandings reached between Xi Jinping and Donald Trump following the Chinese president’s three-day state visit to the United States. Beijing said the two leaders held detailed discussions on China-U.S. relations, global peace and development, and agreed on a framework based on respect, fairness and reciprocity. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun said both sides also agreed to support each other in hosting major international events, including the APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting and G20 Leaders’ Summit. Xi met Trump at the White House on September 23–25 before the two leaders toured the U.S. National Archives. Trump called the visit a success, while Xi said the talks added new substance to a constructive China-U.S. relationship.
