SC orders Navy to reconsider woman officer's permanent commission - Rediff.com India News
The Supreme Court has overturned the Indian Navy Selection Board's decision to deny Permanent Commission to a woman officer in the Judge Advocate General Branch. The court found that the board failed to properly consider her favourable Annual Confidential Reports and unduly focused on past non-recommendations. The Navy has been directed to reconsider her claim within six weeks.
