Maharashtra’s new aggregator rules impose a fivefold penalty on drivers cancelling accepted rides to airports, railway stations and hospitals. Under the 2026 rules, the penalty amount will be credited to the rider’s app account. The move aims to reduce last-minute cancellations and improve reliability of app-based taxi services across the state, officials said.
