BJP MLC Pravin Darekar has suggested building a dam on forest land near Mumbai’s Dahisar Check Naka to address the city’s water shortage. He raised concerns over unequal water distribution in the Legislative Council. Minister Uday Samant said the proposal needs technical evaluation and approvals, while the government will examine it along with existing water management plans.
