Our Lady of Fatima Convent Secondary School, Patiala celebrated Grandparents’ Day with warmth and enthusiasm, honouring grandparents as the enduring pillars of family, love, wisdom and timeless values. The celebration commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, followed by a soulful prayer dance by UKG students. The chief guest, Poonam Dhawan, a former teacher of the school, was warmly welcomed by Principal Sr Immaculate with a green sapling symbolising life, growth and gratitude. The young learners enthralled the audience with delightful cultural performances, while grandparents participated enthusiastically in games, including the Musical Fun Game, Balance and Trace Challenge, and Target Drop. The most touching moment came when Nursery students presented handmade greeting cards to their grandparents, expressing their love and appreciation. Addressing the gathering, Poonam Dhawan appreciated the school’s thoughtful initiative and emphasised the vital role of grandparents in nurturing moral values, compassion and resilience in children. Grandparents also shared cherished memories, adding an emotional touch to the celebration. The programme concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Avika Jain, Junior Head Girl, leaving everyone inspired to cherish the priceless legacy of love, wisdom and family values passed down through generations.
