Volodymyr Zelensky has urged European leaders to provide at least another €70 billion for Ukraine’s defence next year, warning that the war could cost Kyiv around €155 billion in 2027. Speaking at an EU summit in Brussels, Zelensky said the additional funding was needed for weapons, defence and resilience as winter approaches. He also criticised Donald Trump’s diesel agreement with Russia, arguing it would increase Moscow’s revenues, while pressing EU leaders not to block Ukraine’s ambitions to join both the European Union and NATO.
