Recently, a new trend of rational, civil discussion on reunification across the Taiwan Straits has emerged. What matters most about this round of discussion is that, for the first time, people on both sides are trying to shift the conversation from slogans, emotions, and abstract positions, toward institutions, powers and responsibilities, and real-world boundaries.
