Veg, non-veg labels now mandatory for soaps, cosmetics - The Tribune
The Centre has amended the Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Rules, 2011, retaining mandatory “vegetarian/non-vegetarian” labelling for soaps, shampoos, toothpastes, cosmetics and toiletries.Under the notification issued on September 21, a green dot must denote vegetarian origin and a red or brown dot for non-vegetarian origin of a product, with the symbol displayed at the top of the principal display panel. The amendment came into force on publication.
