Zutaten:
- 1 (12-ounce) package Hawaiian sweet rolls, like Kings
- 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon honey
- 5 to 6 ounces thinly sliced cooked deli ham
- 12 thin slices cheese, like Swiss, Cheddar, or Provolone (about 6 ounces)
- 3 tablespoons butter
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- Flaky sea salt for tops (optional)
Arbeitsschritte:
- Heat oven to 350°F (180°C) and line a 9-by-13-inch baking dish with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on two sides to help remove the rolls after baking.
- Use a serrated knife to slice the sheet of rolls in half horizontally, trying not to break the individual rolls apart. Place the bottom half in the prepared pan, and set the top half aside.
- In a small bowl, stir together the mayonnaise, mustard, and honey. Spread it evenly over the bottom sheet of rolls in the pan and over the cut side of the top sheet.
- Layer half the cheese slices over the bottom sheet of rolls, overlapping the slices as needed to cover completely. Arrange the thinly sliced ham over the cheese, folding it slightly to give it a bit of height. Layer the remaining cheese slices over the ham, then place the top half of the rolls over the cheese.
- In a small saucepan, melt the butter with the onion powder, then brush the tops of the rolls with it. Lightly sprinkle flaky sea salt over the tops (if using).
- Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 20 minutes. Remove the foil and bake uncovered until the cheese is melted and the tops are golden brown, about 5 minutes. Using the parchment overhang, transfer to a serving platter. Cut into individual rolls so they pull apart easily.
