Two Greek pilots were killed when their F-4E Phantom II plunged from the sky and exploded during Athens Flying Week near Tanagra Air Base. The fighter rapidly lost altitude during a display manoeuvre and crashed approximately two kilometres from the runway, igniting a large fire. No spectators were injured, but the event was cancelled and Greece declared three days of military mourning. The cause remains under investigation. Watch.
