FSSAI proposes single-phase food warning labels, gives industry one-year transition time - The Economic Times
The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India intends to implement new front-of-pack nutrition labeling regulations. Food Business Operators will have one year to comply with the new labeling requirements. A red hexagonal warning label will highlight high levels of sugar, fat, and salt in packaged products. The FSSAI will adopt thresholds based on recommendations from ICMR-NIN for nutrient content.
