Iran has unveiled a new generation of domestically produced air-defense systems as Tehran works to strengthen its defenses amid escalating regional tensions. The Arman anti-ballistic system and Azarakhsh low-altitude system are designed to counter threats ranging from ballistic and cruise missiles to drones and helicopters. Iranian officials say the systems will improve the country’s defensive self-reliance and reduce dependence on costly foreign equipment.
