Eight people, including a driver, were killed after a Scorpio SUV plunged nearly 1,000-1,200 feet into a gorge in Ambenali Ghat on the Poladpur-Mahabaleshwar highway, police said. The group had travelled from Satara to Dapoli for tourism and was returning when the accident occurred near Dabhil village around 5.30 am on Sunday, according to officials at Poladpur Police Station.
