Former US Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg took aim at Donald Trump and congressional Republicans during a Minnesota campaign rally, mocking their priorities as Americans grapple with rising living costs and healthcare expenses. Buttigieg questioned what Republicans had delivered for ordinary Americans, accusing them of prioritising tax cuts for billionaires while people struggle to afford basic necessities. His pointed Cheesecake Factory remark drew laughter from the crowd. The speech follows Barack Obama's criticism of Trump on the campaign trail, with Minnesota voters casting ballots in the high-stakes midterm elections.
