Norway receive heroes’ welcome from World Cup with fighter jet escort | Sport | Independent TV
Norway’s national football team was greeted with a heroes’ welcome as it was escorted back home by fighter jets. As they entered Norwegian airspace on Monday (13 July), footage shows the players looking out the window and spotting two Royal Norwegian Air Force jets. The military aircraft escorted the team to Oslo, where they met with King Harald at the Royal Palace. Outside the palace, more than 90,000 fans gathered to celebrate the players, who made history by becoming the nation’s first-ever World Cup quarter-finalists.
